Wow these past few weeks have been a whirlwind, with the start of a pastors and their wives conference that my husband and I attended, to a family trip to Washington DC, followed by a woman's conference with the ladies from my church. In all that we celebrated my son's first birthday in there, and also we had our annul fall time festival (with 15,000+ that attended) at church that my husband was over. Oh yeah and I can't forget to mention that my son started walking all on his own, so the craziness at home just doubled. I'm finally feeling like we have been able to breath again these past few days. Not to mention the weather here in Florida has been beautiful. Any day you can have the AC off and the windows open is a great day! Through all the business and traveling, it is easy to push to the side some of the most important things in life, like our daily time in the Word. I know I am guilty of thinking that skipping those few quite moments with God in the morning will some how give me more time in my day. But I am so often reminded that apart from Christ I have nothing good to offer. I read John 15:5 this morning and it was a good reminder for me.
"I (Jesus speaking) am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing."
With all that said, I hope to encourage you all to continue to daily spend time with the Lord. The holiday season is approaching fast and we all know how busy our schedules get then. Let's keep strive to be in God's Word daily and abide in Christ.
-Joyfully abiding
